Songs Unsung: a concert with a twist to it and for a Good Cause

Rumana Monzur had moved here just last year for a 1-year masters in Political Science and upon her visit to her home in Bangladesh for the summer, she was brutally attacked by her husband leaving her visually impaired, harshly impacted and hurt in further physical and emotional ways.  She moved back here, along with her parents and 6-year old daughter just last summer after having UBC, SJC (St. John’s College-grad residency where she lived), iHouse, VGH, among other people/bodies of people, come together and work on getting her back here in hope for good news post further treatment.  Operations have been unsuccessful in terms of regaining even some slight vision back but hopes aren’t down completely as yet.  In order to show continued support, a 3rd year Political Science PhD student, and an SJC alumni came together and planned a concert for her for Feb 9th, with details below, having all donations go to the ‘Rumana Monzur Fund’.

Please join us and spread the word, Rumana and her family will be attending and believe us, she’s a wonderful and inspirational woman to meet!
