Volvo – going green!

Volvo is taking a step in the right direction by not only focusing on how their cars will leave a smaller carbon footprint, but more importanly Volvo has decided to focus on how they will reduce each of their employee’s carbon footprints.

I believe that the use of MIS technology to minimize air travel and then marketing it to the public as your contribution to a greener planet is a fantastic idea, and a great separating point within the automobile industry.

This marketing campaign is particularly interesting to me because I have a hard time believing Toyota’s Hybrid campaign. The carbon footprint left behind from the production of each hybrid vehicle, plus, the disposal of each gas vehicle just seems to large to make not only the accounting cost, but also the environmental opportunity cost worthwhile.
