Despite all the different problems, their causes stem from people’s awareness of the relationship between personal and public interests. For a long time, the politicization of civic virtue in China proved to be a failure, which led to the popularity of falsified brainwash. Metaphysical ideological indoctrination of extreme collectivism has lost vitality. On the contrary, it stimulates people’s suspicion of legitimate public responsibility. Some people can use public funds for a big banquet with their friends without remorse. If they are arrested, they usually think they have bad luck or are treated unequally because they can list all sorts of serious infractions by other people. These actions reflect the officials’ general lack of public responsibility. The core of corporate social responsibility is to internalize the external costs, but there are still a large number of companies moving in the opposite direction. They act in collusion with local officials and get ahead by relying on polluting the environment and exploiting workers. Local government officials seeking local or personal interests provide unsavory organizations with a protective umbrella, causing the helplessness of citizens and a “hatred against their superiors. In addition, traditional attitudes continue to cause trouble. Confucius once said: it is a commendable virtue for the son to hide the evil of his father. Lack of public facilities and public welfare encourages people to drum up their own private circle of support. Family members, schoolmates, countrymen, and colleagues are all ready-made social circles, operating self-sufficiently. These circles’ self-interested modes of operation may easily erode public social justice. The nepotistic organization is a microcosm of these circles.
