English 301: Technical Communication

This course is offered at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The material gives students the opportunity to practice their technical writing skills, such as email memos, technical reports, and definitions. As well, students also learn networking strategies such as creating a LinkedIn profile and making the web folio you’re creating viewing. We also practice application packages for job postings, and extensively go through peer review for each of our documents, a vital skill to know in the workplace in my opinion. The course is taught by Dr. Erika Paterson, and I found it to be an effective course for practicing my technical writing skills.

This is actually my first time doing an online course, and it was very different compared to regular lectures. However, the self-paced nature was something that I grasped very quickly and I was able to succeed quite well in this course. With that said, I encourage you to peruse my web folio!
