Wow! I wish I could have been there when they were filming this commercial! Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Wayne Rooney, Ronaldinho. Who else?! All those superstars from different sports praticing at the same place at the same time. Kind of unrealistic, but still interesting!

The ad is really evocative of Nike’s motto ”Just do it”; on this point, I have to give Nike two thumbs up. After seeing the commercial, I get my sneakers and go for a 5 mile run (or maybe 2). But, and there’s a but, I’m not sure I’ll get my Nike running shoes. One would ask why, of course! The answer is quite simple. To watch so many superstars in an ad, it makes you wonder how much it has cost to produce it. On the one hand, you may consider that it’s Nike’s own business to spend its money the way it intends to. That is totally true. But on the other hand, you may have in mind all those young people working in Asia and in other parts of the world in Nike’s suppliers’ factories. This cheap labor assembles Nike’s shoes, which are sold at high prices, but does not get the benefit of these tremendous selling prices. I can’t give you facts without a more profound research, but I think the situation is still clear enough to have something to think about.

One could argue that I don’t understand nothing to this industry, that the other important competitors are acting the same way, and so on. Yes, maybe he would be right. Maybe I am blind, idealistic. Maybe.

I guess I should go grab my pair of Nikes and go for I run so I can think about all that…Maybe.

Dad seeing wife and baby while he’s out of town. Grandparents saying hello to their granddaughter on her graduation day. Soldier on duty watching his girlfriend’s scan. Deaf-and-dumb people talking to each other.

All this could be considered as clichés, there is no doubt about this.

Only, one thing remains: it works! That is what people were waiting for. I strongly believe this product, with this ad, succeeds to touch people’s emotional string. They realize how close to their loved ones they can get right now.

Apple lover or not, everyone must recognize the success of the fourth generation of the well-known smartphone. Even though it has been launched in Canada on July 30th, people are still on waiting lists to get their own device. Crazy!

Everyone who’s interested in motorcycle must be aware of what’s going on at Kawasaki. The new 2011 Ninja ZX-10R, their 1000 cc superbike which is going to be unveiled shortly, has two main objectives. Firstly, it must bring the Kawasaki World Superbike Racing Team back in the winning circle of the World Superbike championship (WSB). Secondly, the street version of the bike has to oust the BMW S1000RR, the actual King of the superbike world. That, is what we call ”serious objectives”!!

Kawasaki has released a while ago, on kawasaki-challenge.com, a teaser video of its new ”beast” (it’s not an euphemism). It’s really a ”teaser video” because it lasts a little bit under 30 seconds. Personally, I think it could have been longer. An addition of 10-15 seconds of engine sound, which is condidered as music by enthusiasts, would have definitely left a profound mark and a strong desire to know more about the new motorcycle.

Because I’m an enthusiast, I still want to learn more about it and I can’t wait for the official unveiling in October.
