I am an undergraduate student at the University of British Columbia (unceded Musqueam lands). I’m in my final year, pursuing a double major in Human Geography and Gender, Race, Sexuality, and Social Justice (GRSJ). This site was created as part of my introductory GIS course (GEOB 270), where I am currently learning the uses of geospatial data and the foundations of ArcGIS.
GEOB 270 Professional Development Statement:
As an Arts student, I rarely take courses with this kind of scientific methodology. However, I have truly enjoyed learning about the ways in which GIS can aid in examining social and environmental geographic problems. This course was a good fit for me because I work best in hands on settings where I am able to spend time thinking critically and understanding each step of analysis. Having an understand of GIS, and its vast possibility of uses, is a useful skill that I have acquired in this course.
