The Fight Against Colourism – Video Mashup Assignment

This video mashup brings to face the discrimination that darker coloured Black, Asian and Southeast Asian women face in society for their skin tones. It focuses on the colourism women experience on a personal and societal level. Many women use unsafe products on themselves to achieve a lighter complexion because of the idea that whiter is better. This video explains colourism using anecdotal evidence from various pre-existing media sources, and exposes a few of the ways women of colour are combating the emotional damage caused by it.
