About Me
Hola!
My name is Arianna Dalerci and I go by Ari.
I’m from Rome, Italy and have been raised half German and half Italian. At the age of 19 I started UBC, but after not much I stopped my studies and started to work and travel, especially in Latin America. Now, two years later, I’m finally back in Vancouver.
My passions are visual art, music, dance and nature.
A Few Tidbits.
Hey there, Gabrielle Stanier Cruz here. Third year Anthropology student, previously in Lanagara’s Latin American Studies program, 2nd term here at UBC! Super passionate about the region, had the awesome opportunity to go to Peru in May and hike the Inca Trail and can’t wait to visit again. Previous to this I have visited a few other countries in Central and South America. My father is from El Salvador so I understand most spanish and speak a decent amount but I’m still not yet fluent. Looking forward to this course and the interesting things we’ll be exploring and to answering the pressing question of if grass is or isn’t culture.

Introduction
Hello I’m Alexandre. I’m an exchange student at UBC. I come from France.
This blog is dedicated to the course Popular Culture in Latin America (LAST 201).
Hi!
Hi there everyone,
I’m Randal (Lindsell). Actually studying here on exchange – unlike most of you guys I’m from the UK and my home uni is UoM (short for University of Manchester!). I will be here for just this semester till the end of April! My major is Music, so most of the time I will be spent over there, in the Irving, or out skiing at Whistler/Grouse etc. ;). V. interested by this module and what is to come!
See you all in class tomorrow!

Introduction
My name "Reina" means "Queen" in Spanish, and my parents wanted to name myself that could easily be pronounced by other languages so they name like this (Reina is also common Japanese name).
I used to live in Brazil when I was little, and I also have a lot of Latin friends from my high school. Thanks to my friend's mom, I was invited to some culture shows and photo exhibitions of Panama, and I was interested to study more of latin pop cultures.
I'm not always the talkative one in the class but I will try my best to dedicate!
