The University Women’s Club of Vancouver presents an esteemed speaker for the 16th Hycroft Lecture on Friday, January 27, 2006. The Rt. Honourable Chief Justice’s illustrious career began in 1968 and included teaching at the UBC Faculty of Law before becoming the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of British Columbia. She became the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada in 2000. Her lecture is sure to be thought provoking and inspiring. Cost: $25.00 for members or $35.00 for non-members. Reservations, payments, and cancellations by noon Friday, January 20, 2006. VISA accepted.

From November 28 through to December 5, 2005, the UBC Library and the AMS will be holding the 3rd annual ‘Food for Fines’ event.
For every non-perishable food item donated by a Library patron, $2 will deducted from their Library fine (to a maximum of $20 per borrower). Food donations will go to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and the AMS Student Food Bank.

– A Quicklaw/Lexis representative will be available in the Law Library to provide you with personalized instruction
– When: Tuesdays from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm
(Tuesday, November 8th, 2005 to December 13th, 2005; Tuesday, January 10th, 2006 to April 25th, 2006)
– Where: Law Library Staff Meeting & Training Room (NE corner, top floor of Law Library – near the elevator)
