The Holiday season is fast approaching, so why not start it off right by attending a small pocket market, put on by the children of Tyee Elementary School in collaboration with a LFS 350 group? At this market the children will be selling:
- fresh pressed apple cider
- spices
- dried apples
- seed packages
- cookies
- homemade cards
- crafts
…and much more! All the proceeds from the market will go directly to the students of Tyee Elementary to help fund their garden! Our hope for this little market is that the students will be able to raise enough money to help make their garden grow and to be able to run another market in the future. In growing foods and providing them to the community, the students are learning the value of local food production and the importance of community engagement.
Where: Tyee Elementary School, 3525 Dumfries Street (just east of Knight, on 18th Ave.)
