The UBC Pre-Vet and Animal Welfare (PAW) club is happy to present its 3rd annual UBC PAW Animal Welfare Conference! This year’s conference has a focus on Wildlife Management and Conservation, with five renowned speakers joining to share their expertise. The 2019 UBC PAW Animal Welfare Conference looks to shed light on human-wildlife interactions and how an individual may personally impact wildlife welfare in their day-to-day life.
This year’s conference will be held at the Graduate Student Society Loft in the AMS Nest (Room 4202) on Friday, March 8 from 12:30 – 4:30pm. Speakers include professors from the UBC and University of Calgary, as well as animal health care professionals from the Vancouver Aquarium, and a representative from the BC SPCA. Each speaker has had experience working with wildlife and are longtime advocates for wildlife welfare.
If you have a passion for animal care, welfare, or science, attend the conference to learn more about how you can one day be involved in the work of preserving our local wildlife. There will be time to interact with the speakers and ask any questions you may have regarding their studies and become more aware of the current ongoing welfare issues.
