A rare opportunity for graduate and upper-level undergraduate students! This fall 2015, Nobel prize-winning economist and Professor Joseph Stiglitz will be coming to UBC as the inaugural Lind Initiative Visitor. Prof. Stiglitz will lecture in a special course, Global Inequality and the Work of Joseph Stiglitz. The course is for 1 ½ credits and runs from September 18th through November 20th on Friday mornings. In addition to addressing economic dimensions of inequality, students will participate in lectures with leading thinkers, writers, and activists in critical areas such as race, gender, climate change, and globalization.
Students can register for this course at https://courses.students.ubc.ca/cs/main?pname=subjarea&tname=subjareas&req=5&dept=GPP&course=591§ion=001 and find more information at http://www.ligi.ubc.ca/Courses.htm. This is a competitive-entry course with instructions included in both of these links. The application deadline is July 31, 2015.
