Having done audio slideshows in the past, I opted to attempt a timeline for this activity. I tried embedding it here, but no luck, so here’s the URL:
http://www.xtimeline.com/timeline/Pacific-Rim-Journey
It loosely chronicles a trip I took nearly 30 years ago, and incorporates photos that I took during that trip (taken with Kodachrome and Fujichrome, and recently scanned).
I find myself somewhat disappointed with xtimeline, one of the services recommended in our reading, although I’m not aware of anything necessarily better (one possibility: Timetoast). I find xtimeline does a poor job with the images, and the resulting timeline is drab. But it works. (One complaint is that each photo appears connected to the next event rather than the event that it actually relates to.)
BTW, in case you’re interested, I ponder the educational potential of timelines (and gnash my teeth at xtimeline’s shortcomings) in my current blog posting.
