This was a hard task to begin, having to redesign a task which I did not do too well the first time around. How to redesign? The New London Group (1996) discuss that digital technologies are associated with this movement both in terms of their facilitation of global, intercultural exchange, which leads to the convergence of peoples and languages in online communities and in terms of the way in which they allow for the convergence of a range of media, thereby affording multiple modes of representation. This made me think about transformative literacy and the audiobook. Audiobook was fresh in my mind as I just pre-ordered the latest Outlander novel which comes out in November (just in case you needed that information, highly recommend it!) When I use to be able to travel, audiobooks saved my luggage space. Even though nothing beats the smell of a book, it sure is handy to have 5 romantic novels ready at a tap of a button when I am relaxing on a beach.

This also had me thinking of my classroom, and how audiobooks have helped me differentiate for the different learners in my room. Digital literacy does appear to be leading to greater literate participation in a wide range of activities, brought on by the ease of writing, greater linking of ideas and texts, and at least the promise of universal access to knowledge, The New London Group (1996).

So, this made me redesign task one into an audiobook with flare using Chatterpix which I learned from Keri as this was a mode she used to give me feedback. Yes, I do realize I need to work on my breathing while recording myself.
