Abstract

The purpose of this project was to identify current food bank sites in Metro Vancouver in comparison to low income areas. Food bank data was not easily located as no central list existed. After collecting food bank locations, the locations were mapped against median household income and transit stops to determine how suitable current locations are using a Euclidean Distance raster. To determine areas best suited for possible future food bank locations, a weighted MCE was done using median household income, transit stop locations, and land use categories. Following the MCE, three areas were identified as potential future food bank sites. Discussion of the results and limitations encountered concludes the project.
