With all the forms of marketing out there today, a recent brand has come to the forefront of the marketing avenues. The company Snapchat, has released many new updates recently, that not only benefit the users, but also companies around the world. These new updates allow any company, any size, to market themselves in new, innovative and broad ways.

Snapchat has become a go-to application for communicating with others around the world.  With each update, they add new features that allow their users to better communicate with anyone, anywhere around the world.  These features include; audio calls, real time video communication, messaging, stories and even the option to send previously saved media. These constant updates keeps users interested, as well as interest new users that are looking for a communication application that can do it all.  After these past new updates Snapchat has released, they now have 100 million viewers.   This is a large audience that a company can reach through a single marketing channel.

While creating features that benefit the users, Snapchat has also updated the advertising aspects of the application. The biggest change being the decreased cost of advertising through the Discover channels.  It’s gone from 15¢ per view to 2¢ per view, making it much more affordable for everyday companies. The most popular and noticeable change to the users is the sponsored lenses and geofilters. These lenses and geofilters allow the company to advertise and promote an event or a specific location. But also allows the users to show their friends where they are and what they are doing. This is great for big events like concerts, shows and corporate gatherings. They can also go as far as creating a live story that all attendees can send videos into, to showcase the event and the company.

Many brands and companies focus their advertising on the impressionable and technological savvy youth of today. Snapchat reaches this target market on a daily basis with 60% of their users being aged 13-34. These users also spend at least 30 minutes on the application a day and account for part of the average 8 billion videos sent per day. These statistics prove Snapchat is the one of the most reliable and widest reaching forms of advertising to youth in today’s world of technology. They can use not only ads, but a personal Snapchat account to interact with these users. Many brands use their accounts to peak consumer interest through; exclusive sneak peaks, behind the scenes videos, company updates and even discounts.

Snapchat is putting themselves at the forefront of marketing options through their constantly added new features, attention to advertising and their growing base of young users.
