Michael Silverwood

I am a fourth year Bcom student pursuing a Combined Major in Business and Computer Science at UBC’s Sauder School of Business, and in my free time I play drums and piano in a band, design websites, and develop iPhone and iPad apps. I have always been fascinated with tech products, and the marketing that goes into making them popular, so I am extremely excited to delve deeper into the subject! Over the years I have been on the marketing committees for a number of clubs at UBC including the Enterprize 2008 organizing committee and the International Business Club.

This project started as a course blog for COMM 296 (Introduction to Marketing), but had a unique focus on marketing in high tech industries including mobile applications and interactive media. From time to time it also strayed into the entertainment industry, as I find the overlap between entertainment and technology fascinating as well.

I recently launched a new website at MichaelSilverwood.ca, as well as a new blog at blog.MichaelSilverwood.ca, and as a result I will no longer be posting new articles here. However, you can continue to follow me at either of the sites above, or on Twitter @Michael_One, where I will continue to post on both marketing and tech trends.
