September 18 SWG Meeting
SWG Meeting Notice
The next SWG Meeting is going to be held on September 18, at 5pm following Rodolfo’s MINE 590W class – at Koerner’s Pub.
The meeting will be a chance for all new (and old) students to hear about SWG activities, who we are, and where we are going, etc.. All new members are welcomed.
We’ve got an exciting year ahead with plans to collaborate with students across the world. Plans are underway with the Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining in Australia, the 2011 SDIMI meeting in Germany, edumine course development, greenbag luncheons, and more fun adventures (our recent camping trip to Elfin Lakes was a great time!!).
With new people arriving, and others graduating (moi for example), we need to restructure the SWG positions. We will be reviewing all positions. Please formally let me know (via email) if you are interested (or want to nominate) anyone for the following:
Rapporteur (1 person)
Treasurer (1 person)
Technical Support / Communications (2 people)
External Representative (1 person)
Events Coordinator (1 person)
Alumini Representative (1 person)
Voting and positions will be decided on at this meeting.
Also for discussion will be:
– regular time and place for SWG meetings
– future plans / vision for SWG
