Objective

Modern Forest Management is a group of 4th year students in the Faculty of Forestry at UBC. We are working with the George Joseph Keyoh, a First Nations group located inĀ Fort Saint James, to create a cooperative forest management solution to address challenges within the territory. Our diverse backgrounds and knowledge of BC forests make us a well-qualified group to take on this project.

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to explore alternative management practices in First Nations territory, to better represent their traditional land uses.

Vision Statement:

We envision sustainable forest practices with extensive cooperation and communication between First Nations groups and government.
