Bachelor of Education Highlights

As I mentioned in my assessment strategies, I believe in providing students with the opportunity to demonstrate their learning a variety of ways. One of the assignments for my Literacy and Assessment class called for the translation of a piece of writing in our subject area into a genre that was unconventional to our subject area. I used notes based on balancing chemical equations (Science 10 or a chemistry 11 class) to create a music video parody based on Enrique Iglesias’s “I’m Tired of Being Sorry.”

Our final project for Literacy and Assessment was to create a video that utilized multiple literacies that could be used in a teaching context. With my group I created a parody of the TV show ‘House’ that reflected what I learned about professional conduct during our time within the UBC B.Ed program and how it relates to gaining employment. The multi-literacies we used included professional literacy, video literacy, music literacy, social media literacy, fashion literacy as well as television literacy; inherent within this is technological literacy. The following is a short clip from our video.

  1. Multidimensional assessment is a comprehensive approach to evaluating various aspects of an individual’s needs and strengths, often used in fields like social work, psychology, and education. For those writing about this complex topic, an essay service https://essaysworld.net/ can be a valuable resource, providing assistance with research, structuring ideas, and ensuring a well-rounded analysis.
