Feedback

Why does feedback have such a negative connotation?  The sound of the word makes me think of the impersonal types of feedback that are pictured below.

These images conjure thoughts of lengthy, perhaps unnecessary surveys and quizzes, as well as extremely complex corporate structures.

For teachers, reflecting on feedback or not reflecting on feedback can separate good teachers from great teachers. The ability to evaluate one’s strengths and areas in need of growth is vital.  Also, each positive piece of feedback should be looked at after a “rainy” teaching day for cheer and comfort.
