Ned who?

What do you get when you cross America Ferrara, Haley James Scott (from One Tree Hill) and Sasha Fierce? It’s hard to tell, but it might be somebody like Nicole.

I’m Nicole, but friends call me Ned.

It’s just a nickname that was adopted in high school. Ever since grade 10 it kind of stuck to the point where new kids actually thought my parents had put three letters on my birth certificate or were actually convinced Nicole and Ned were two separate individuals.

Originally from Brampton, Ontario, and often described as the “mother” of her floor or “mama angelfish”, Nicole is a total gLeek and can often be heard playing the ukulele. She loves playing pool, sneaking into ballrooms late at night to jam on grand pianos and waking up early to go for long runs along Wreck beach. She is an enthusiastic Arts student currently studying archaeology, but has a Periodic table above her bed. If you ever need to find her, look for the petite fille splashing around in silver metallic rain boots.

I joined the Blog Squad in August 2010 as a fresh bright wide-eyed newbie at UBC Vancouver. If you asked me a year ago what I love to do, I’d say eating s’mores, dancing around like a goof with tap shoes on and Nordic skiing. You can find me wearing Amish skirts, in a darkroom mixing chemicals, playing pointless board games, or devouring thick Greek yogurt and honey. If spare time existed I’d spend it all watching Broadway musicals and Star Wars. I love traveling and currently at the top of my list is to go somewhere where I can put all those years of French to use.

All of this is remains true. But after living at Totem Park for a year there’s a little more I can say about myself now…
My aspiration is to basically be Lara Croft, described on Wikipedia as “a beautiful, intelligent, and athletic archaeologist-adventurer who ventures into ancient, hazardous tombs and ruins around the world”. Basically, a bad-ass female Indiana Jones do something kind of chick who likes digging up old stuff.

For now, I’m an RA at Totem Park, so I’m enjoying myself as the girl next dorm. And guess what – I get to share all my adventures at UBC with you. Get excited people. So welcome friend, you may call me Ned.
