How Brands Can Engage And Capture Millennials

Adweek dedicated a week on Millennials and this article talks about how brands can get Millennials to like them. Now, being a millennial myself, I found the article and results to be quite interesting.

Norty Cohen, founder and CEO of agency Moosylvania, makes a good point about how Millennials will adopt brands that make an effort to create a friendship. Once that friendship has been established, Millenials will go to great lengths to support the brand. Through social media channels, this cohort believes that they can make a difference for a brand. First off, they are much more vocal about their thoughts and opinions than the Baby Boomers. This is because technology allows us to take part in world events and see what the power of an ordinary person.

I don’t know about all you other Millennials out there, but this pretty much sums up how to get me to like a brand. Creating a relationship with a brand is difficult to build, but I believe some brands have been able to achieve this. It is about make that personal connection that feels like I’m just connecting with a friend. One of my favourite brands is Starbucks. Recently Starbucks launched its first brand campaign, “Meet Me at Starbucks” where it shows a day in a life at Starbucks from numerous countries.
