Hi everyone!
My name is Olga and I am a part of UBC Global Carrier Development with Internship Program. I am 19 years old. I am a 4th year student at Far-Eastern Federal University (Vladivostok, Russia). My major is economics.
I really like studying at my university, because the lectures are very interactive and engaging and the professors are always willing to help me with any questions. In addition, I am very passioned about my studies, which makes my academic journey a fun experience. The FEFU is largest university in primorsky region and it is currently expanding to a new campus as a part of APEC ( Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation) which will take place in my home city in September. I am going to take part in this event as a volunteer in one of the banks once i come back from Canada.
Besides face-to-face classes at my home university, I am also taking online classes at the University of Maryland University college (Washington, USA). My major is business administration.
Online education provides an unsurpassed opportunity to combine work and studies, or, as in my case, to get international university experience and obtain 2 diplomas – from Russian and US universities. Getting 2 diplomas is extremely time consuming, however I thoroughly enjoy all my classes, especially group projects. Such program significantly improved my organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines and ability to pay attention to details.
My life is not only about studies. I am a well-rounded person interested in outdoor activities, sports, hanging out with friends, travelling and Pilates. My favorite winter sports are ice-skating and snowboarding. Every weekend in the winter I try to spend on the slopes of one of the local mountains in my city. These Christmas holidays my friends and I went to a ski-resort for several days and it was lots of fun. I wish I could get an experience of snowboarding in Whistler, BC. In the summer time I try to travel to as many countries as possible. Recently I have joined Pilates classes, which indeed help me to stay energized and concentrated.
