This post marks the beginning of Comm 464 – Emarketing

Our world is currently confronted with environmental problems. Due to the existence of human beings, we have certainly been demolishing the nature.

In response to the Michelle Cheung’s blog, she illustrated that Amway has produced a new product line known as the “planet positive.” Within this package, it includes laundry products which the chemicals bring no harm to our planet.

Nowadays, most consumers are highly aware of eco-friendly products. Marketing research has shown that environmental products can affect consumer buying powering and spending powers. Since Amway sells their product by having Independent Business Owners known as IBO and most of them are mothers and wives, advertising is certainly not a barrier for Amway as word of mouth is a strong method to advertise.

Amway has a fascinating selling strategy which works as a pyramid structure. A small amount of people are up at the top of the pyramid which then each of them searches others who are interested in becoming an IBO to sell Amway products. Afterwards, these new IBOs engage in the same process and this chaining would continue on. Through this chaining method, each item that an IBO sells, the people on top of them would earn a small portion of commission.

Truly, Amway do not require much advertising as the main advertising strategy is through the word of mouth. As a result, consumers purchasing from these IBOs can instantly provide feedback to them and these IBOs would be able to report the good and the bad of their products to their heads.

Throughout the year for this one credit course.  The first semester of comm 299 requires me to speak publicly. Since public speaking has always been a barrier to me in my life, such a course certainly has improved on my presentation skills. I am glad that UBC has provided this course and I can guarantee that my enhancement in public speaking will lead me to success.The second half of the course involves in job search process, interview, resume, and cover letter. Such tasks which we need to accomplish surely will benefit me in the future since these experience which I have gained in universtiy will be useful when I graduate. The techniques and skills which I have gained throughout this course will definitely assist me in having a higher probability to obtain a job.

Badminton has always been part of my life. As a young lad who has started playing this competitive sport at the age of eleven, I was inspired by badminton coach. At first, I was a lazy young being who did not strive for my best. Every training, I would state to my coach that I am exhausted even though training has just started a while. Each time he fed me birdies which was not close to me, I would not bother to achieve it. Such a situation has lasted couple of trainings and eventually, he could not stand my attitude anymore. I guess my perception on badminton has caused him to explode like a volcano due to my on going performance. He informed me that training is similar to life. If I am not persistent, I would never be successful in life and I need to have a strong volition to achieve my objectives. Due to his motivational speech, my thoughts towards badminton have altered. From that day on, in order to endeavour for exceptional outcomes not only towards badminton, but also in life, I am determined to become a successful individual. Surely, he has changed my life.
