Summary: This learning objective clearly explains the relationship between two waves of different frequencies and the resulting beat that is observed.

Summary: This prezzi goes through a problem using the beat frequency equation explaining why each step happens. It also explains the concept of why we hear beats.

Title: Beat Frequencies at a Concert
Category: Beats
Summary: The topic of my learning object was beat frequencies, so I decided to explore the concept of how the number of beats in a given time varies in two high pitched sounds and two lower pitched sounds. I used a word document because it was the easiest way to present a single question.
Title: The Two Violins: an Analysis of Beat Frequencies and the Interference of Sound Waves
Category: Beats
Summary: This learning object is a word problem that analyzes a situation where two violins that are out of tune combine to produce a “beating” frequency. The beat frequency is calculated, and then the principle of superposition is used to calculate the displacement of the resultant wave, which comes from the two sound waves of the violins, at a specific time.
Category: Light Interference
Summary: interference is generally discussed, with focus on the conduction and understanding of the Michelson interferometer. The methods and ideas behind the interferometer are highlighted, as well, the formula mλ=2d is discussed and tested.
Category: 2D Wave Interference
Summary: I chose to do a prezzi presentation on wave interference focusing on wave interference patterns and giving a specific example about wave interference in water.

Title: Calculating Lambda for 2D Wave Interferences
Category: 2D Wave Interference
Summary: In my LO, i explain how a 2 source wave interference is created and the ripple ring structure it creates. I then explain how we can take that diagram and evaluate the various crest/trough interference and create a fan digram which can be used for calculations. As there are many different ways of using this diagram to calculate various values, i chose to explain how to use the |d(point2)-d(pointi)|= (n-1/2)λ formula to solve for lambda.
