Spot the difference

Title: Spot the difference

Category: Standing Waves

Summary: During this chapter on waves and oscillations we have been introduced to many different types of waves and I was getting confused as how they were related to each other and how they differed. So I started off this powerpoint by creating a flow chart that categorized the different types of waves. And since this week’s learning object is on standing waves I wanted to emphasizes the simliarities and differences between what we’ve been learning this past while on traveling waves and standing waves.

Standing Waves Flash Cards

Title: Standing Waves Flash Cards

Category: Standing Waves

Summary: I created a series of flash cards from a flash card generating site, however, when transferring them to a word document, their layout has been altered. With flash cards, students can easily and efficiently learn the basic concepts of Standing Waves. I also included some hand-drawn images that are placed on the backs of the flash cards. I believe that this will help students create a picture in their mind of the Standing Waves, and hopefully concrete their knowledge on the subject.

Standing Waves on Strings: Understanding Nodes and Antinodes

Summary: This Prezi details an explanation of standing waves, what nodes and antinodes are (location on a graph and what they represent), how this translates to standing waves on strings, and how to use antinodes and nodes to calculate values of wave speed, wavelength, and frequency for strings.
