My name is Rob VanWynsberghe and I am a Professor in the Department of Educational Studies in the Faculty of Education at the University of British Columbia.
This blog represents the academic and research programs that I have co-developed over the years to support both my own ideas and those of the constituency of future leaders in sustainability, regeneration and resilience. I have a PhD in Sociology and this has led me to see these related fields as a social movement. The challenge is to counter-narrative the idea of progress as something that necessarily comes at an environmental and social cost. I think now we are in the process of unlearning the mainstream notion of progress using transdisciplinary research and this is transformative learning. So if you’re a student (or anyone else interested in such a program) please read on to learn more on integrating rigorous research, experiential learning, and collaborative practice, it brings together students, faculty, and professionals from multiple disciplines.
“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
