from week 11

Assignment:

Create a set of images bases on a poem of your choice from “Tender Buttons” by Gertrude Stein

Comments-

This is a extension of our previous assignment. The emphasis is, again, on creating  an ‘object’ understood as a set of experiences in an instant in time.

  • In order to create that illussion of and instant or simultaneity, it is important that your set of images does not translate as a sequence, that viewers would not be able to tell an order to the shots.
  • The poems also stres the centrality of experience as the constituyent of the object. Note that the result is a series of abstract images in which the cited object appears and dissappear within a multitude of other objects, colors, memories, etc. You might want to try that approach in your images too.

  1. Hi allFriday was first day of spring (we call it Nowruz) and the first day of our new year.
Nowruz (meaning New Day) is the name of the Iranian/Persian New Year. It marks as the first day of spring and the begining of the year in the Iranian Calender.
I used to go to one of the bazaar and take some shots, please check them if you have time

  2. Here is my piece inspired by “A LONG DRESS”

What is the current that makes machinery, that makes it crackle, what is the current that presents a long line and a necessary waist. What is this current.

What is the wind, what is it.

Where is the serene length, it is there and a dark place is not a dark place, only a white and red are black, only a yellow and green are blue, a pink is scarlet, a bow is every color. A line distinguishes it. A line just distinguishes it.
