Global Gender & Water Competition

 

 

Dear wH2O Supporter,

Long-time wh2O Journal partner, Global Water Alliance, (formerly Philadelphia Global Water Initiative) together with University of Pennsylvania Department of Earth and Environmental Science, has announced it’s Innovation: Gender and WASH GWA Student Competition. This is an opportunity for students and recent graduates to learn, showcase, and propose innovative solutions to issues involving gender and water/sanitation/hygiene [WASH].  wH2O Journal encourages innovation on these important issues, and we thought it necessary to let our supporters know about this exciting opportunity.  Please feel free to forward this email or pass along the information about the GWA competition to colleagues, students, friends, and supporters!  
Eligibility: students, recent graduates (within two years from an academic institute) are welcome to participate – applicants may also work in teams

Entry requirement: research paper, video, online journal, blog, etc.  Entries will be judged by a group of international experts, including industry professionals from UNICEF, GWA, and Women for Water Partnership.

Prize: the winning entry will receive a monetary award of $1,000 USD and will be invited to present at the GWA session at the 7th World Water Forum-Citizen’s Forum in South Korea [April 12-27, 2015] as well as other GWA conferences.  Additional selected entries will be showcased at the forum.

Deadline: February 21, 2015. Submissions should be sent directly to GWAcompetition@gmail.com.
