Practicum Reflection 3

I reconfirmed that this practicum project is closer to an internship rather than a self-directed study. Academic research can serve as a foundational framework and rationale; however, the main focus should be on developing practical tools and guidelines through open-ended design exploration. The goal is to demonstrate the possibilities of using AI to visualize syllabi and empower faculty by providing clear, step-by-step workflows, prompts, and examples that they can apply in practice.

Action Items

• Course Schedule – Explore possibilities for visualizing the course timeline/horizontal view so learners can easily see where they are in the course journey.

• Learning Objectives – Explore ways to visualize learning objectives so students are encouraged to engage with them and understand their connections with assessments (e.g., showing relationships between learning objectives and assignments).

• Reading List – Explore ways to visualize resources through a more inclusive and decolonized syllabus approach (e.g., colour-coding resources based on research origins, authors, topics, Indigenous-related content/authors, peer-reviewed sources, books/articles/media types).

• Research Questions – Convert Practicum Objectives into research questions.
