Google Translate: Tu es tres mignon

This past Monday morning, I woke up, post-stomach flu, feeling not particularly spectacular, and came to realize that I had slept through my alarm.  Awesome.  So after an awful day, I resorted to the one thing that always puts me in a better mood; watching Youtube videos.  I stumbled across a Youtube channel called “Seachstories”, created and updated by Google.  One video in particular, entitled “Parisian Love”, really caught my attention.

I immediately fell in love with the 53 seconds of cuteness, showed all my friends, and it beat out “Charlie bit my finger” as my go-to feel good video.  My attitude instantly shifted from gloomy to gleeful, and all I wanted to do was take advantage of all the cool Google features.  I already rely on Google for my everyday needs, but this video really made me love and appreciate it that much more.  I was experiencing an affective attitude and it was something that Google was hoping to achieve.  This marketing strategy encourages the viewer to feel and want to use their search engine for their personal daily questions and demands.  This ad was also run during the 2010 Superbowl, and received much praise and approval.  On the Searchstories page, in the About Me section, the description reads

“Every search is a quest. Every quest is a story.  These videos show that anyone can do anything when paired with the power of search”.

The idea behind this is that anyone can use Google, with ease and convenience, at home or on your mobile, or for homework or even love.

Other notable Searchstories include… New Baby, Graduation and another favorite, Brother and Sister.

Whether it be for a laugh or a pick me up, I will always be an avid Googler, thanks to the constant reliability and fantastic ads.
