Beginning in 2008, Nike and Lance Armstrong are bringing the LIVESTRONG Collection of workout and running apparel and footwear to retailers nationwide. In an unprecedented move, 100 percent of Nike’s profits from the entire LIVESTRONG collection will go to the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF), a foundation that fights cancer.
This is a pretty good marketing method that is adopted by a lot of firms currently. As a sports clothing giant, Nike, a profit organization is smartly taking this action to make profit out of a non-profit campaign. Some people might think profit is money, that i think is not necessarily true because in the long run, a brand like Nike would be focusing more on public relation than their own profit, and that makes long run profit for itself as well as its customers.
