Who is eligible to participate?
Anyone is welcome to participate – no previous photography experience required!
However, the draw for the final winners will take place at the end of the symposium, and you must be present during that time to receive your prize.
How do I submit my photos?
Please email your photos (up to 3!) to the RHSRNbc Network Coordinator at dayeon.kim@ubc.ca.
- Deadline: Thursday May 16th, 2024; 12pm PDT
- Photos must be original pictures that are taken by yourself
- Files must be in .jpg or .png format
- Make sure your email subject is: “[NAME] – Symposium Photo Contest”
What kind of photos are you accepting?
We are accepting any photos that answer the question: “What does solastalgia or climate change look like to you?” We understand that there can be many interpretations to this question, and are open to creative submissions.
How will the winners be determined?
At the end of the symposium, a random draw will take place to pick three winners. Regardless of the number of photos that are submitted, each person will only be entered into the draw once.
How will the photos I submit be used?
All the photos that we receive may be included in symposium-related content, either during the event or in a post-symposium report. Nothing will be used for commercial purposes, and photographers will maintain ownership over their photos otherwise.
