Hi everyone! Welcome to my blog. I would like to start by formally introducing myself. My name is Yasmin and I am second year student majoring in political science with a minor in sociology. I am originally from Afghanistan but immigrated to Canada back in 2009. I have always grown up with reading and writing as it became an escape from reality but I have not fully explored into the history or literature which is something I am most excited about. I am excited about looking into texts from different countries and centuries. I believe that it will be interesting analyze literary texts from different origins to see the differences in style of writing. One challenge I see myself having in this course is figuring out how to properly conceptualize the text but this is something I look forward to overcoming throughout this course.

A little bit about me!

As mentioned before, I am originally from Afghanistan but have been living in British Columbia for the last 12 years. I am the second youngest child out of 5 children as well as the 4th kid to attend University of British Columbia! I have a cat who is almost 10 years old and has been my best friend ever since she was little. Ever since the first ever quarantine, I have spent most of my time on my computer. I took interest in building computers as well as playing games, although it takes up most of my time. I was hoping to have this semester in person but sadly we have to be online again. Regardless, I really look forward to this class and meeting everyone in it!
