Hi everyone,
My name is Danielle and I am a fourth year Arts student, majoring in English Literature. I will probably need this term, plus one other term to graduate and I am thinking about doing an MSW after my undergraduate degree. In my free time I enjoy going to the gym and going out for food with friends.
I am really excited for this class because it is so unique from all the other English classes I have experienced before. I have never learned about literature derived from the romance languages before and I am looking forward to reading these texts. The only background that I have with romance languages is from taking French in high school and from travelling to Paris and Italy on vacation. From the small part that I experienced, I loved it so much so I hope that I get to learn more about their cultures within this course. The world of romance literature seems so diverse and not tied to any one category. It will be interesting to see the patterns that arise from texts that were written in different languages and cultures from one another. I am also really enticed by the structure of this course as the blog seems like it will be a great channel for imagination and learning opportunities.

Nice to meet you Danielle!
Reading through your blog post, I can definitely relate to finding new experiences with this class and learning different things than what we’re used to. It’s going to be an exciting class with broader perspectives for all of us!
Best of luck in your final year!
