Russian Language Summer School at RUDN University:

SPEAK WITH THE WORLD IN RUSSIAN!

 

 

RUDN Russian Language Summer School offers two intensive Russian language programs designed for those who are interested in cultural immersion and who want to learn Russian at an accelerated pace with the most experienced Russian language instructors of the faculty. The focus of the programs is intensive oral conversation practice in authentic situations.

 

After successfully completing a program of the students’ choice, students will be able to:

  • apply and expand previously learned language skills to everyday situations and to new topics;
  • maintain dialogues in social exchanges;
  • expand their vocabulary;
  • apply techniques to improve pronunciation;
  • understand native speakers in various contexts

The programs combine classes, cultural activities, and weekend excursions, which allow students to acquire knowledge of Russian history and culture.

Instruction

Face-to-face instruction intensive oral conversational practice, phonetics, vocabulary, and practical grammar with Russian native speaking teachers.

Groups

According to the results of the placement test, students are assigned to groups of 3-15 people at the level appropriate to their knowledge of Russian.

Schedule

Classes are held on campus from Monday to Friday

 

9:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m.

2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. –      guided educational activities

Weekends

Weekends are left for sightseeing, excursions, exhibitions, museums, theatres and bus tours to some of the near Golden Ring Cities. Some changes to cultural programme can be made to accommodate students’ interests (upon request).

Certificates

Upon successful completion of a program, students receive an official Certificate of Completion from RUDN University that lists the contact hours and grades achieved.  Students should contact UBC Summer Abroad program about the transfer of credit.

The program fees include:

 

  • airport transfer (traveling to and from an airport);
  • visa support (invitation);
  • campus accommodation (student dormitories, occupancy 2-3 people in a room);
  • tuition;
  • guided education activities.

 

RUDN Campus

 

The RUDN University campus is situated in southwestern Moscow in a beautiful and ecologically clean area of the city. The most “green” Russian university (according to the UIGreenMetric World University Ranking) is located nearby the parkland covering 50 hectares.

Summer school students usually live in the best dorms, and cleaning service is included. The stuff is polite and friendly.

There are 20 teaching blocks and 13 dormitories on the Mikluho-Maklaya Street. More than 8000 undergraduate and graduate students live in comfortable apartments with equipped kitchen, bathroom, Internet connection, and Satellite TV. There is a laundry and ironing table as also study hall in every building.

There are excellent opportunities for a full life on campus: shops and a bank, barbershops, dry-cleaning facilities, parking lots and car service centre. After classes students can relax in different cafes and restaurants, enjoy a variety of national cuisine— African, Arab, Indian, Russian, Chinese, Georgian.
