Hi everyone!
Welcome to my blog (I’ve never done one of these before so this is exciting)
I’m Spencer Hunt and I’m a first-year arts student and I am hoping to major in History. I am from Calgary Alberta but I have always loved Vancouver because with the ocean and the mountains it is the best of both worlds. My favourite things are reading and history so I thought this class would be a perfect way to learn new things while also doing what I love. Having grown up in Canada I am not very familiar with translated texts and I’m looking forward to discovering new ways of learning and trying to find differences and similarities in the upcoming texts.
The structure of this course is very unique and I think I will enjoy the freedom and self-guided learning from reading and interpreting the books by myself and I look forward to seeing what everyone else brings to discussions. I have looked through the readings and already having a difficult time choosing which ones to read because they all look so interesting. Are we sure we can’t make time for all of them?
I’m looking forward to this semester and am hopeful that we can all meet in person soon!
