My primary research involves fieldwork research in the Interior of British Columbia. Indigenous languages of BC are largely under-documented in the areas of syntax and semantics, and there only limited time that we can still do meaningful work with fluent first language speakers. This research is urgent for multiple reasons, such as linguistic documentation, as well as its contributions to and expansion of  effective teaching programs that aims to train future generations of speakers.

The fieldwork projects I am involved with are part of larger groups working on achieving the same goal:

Nłab
Together with Danica Reid, I co-manage the Nłab, which is actively conducting fieldwork with fluent speakers of Nłeʔkepmxcin, working on documentation, analysis, and pedagogy.

Secwepemctsín Research Group
I am the manager of the Secwepemctsín Research Group, and we work with fluent speakers of Secwepemctsín, on a variety of projects mainly centred around documentation and analysis.
