Bridgitte Taylor – I’m a 4th year International Relations major with an emphasis on diplomacy, security and peace studies. I’m generally interested in international affairs, especially with regards to regions in Latin America, land use, indigenous issues and resistance. However, I also love to keep up with Canadian political, social and economic affairs, especially issues in B.C. and the lower mainland.
Adèle Therias – I’m a 2nd year Geography student in the Environment and Sustainability stream with a strong interest in community planning and a passion for sustainable food systems. I enjoy learning about physical and social processes that shape our interaction with our surroundings, as well as discussing ways to improve those experiences and contribute to social, economic and environmental sustainability.
Marcus Jung – Hi everyone! I’m a 3rd year student in the Global Resource systems program within the faculty of Land and Food systems. I have a diverse range of interests from various disciplines such as understanding how humans behave through psychology or gaining a better understanding of how food systems work. Last summer, I was able to partake in an International Service Learning program and I enjoy learning about the concept of asset based community learning. I hope to continue learning how to collaborate with communities throughout this course.
Wiley Wilkins – I am a 4th year environment and sustainability major. I like traveling a lot and seeing new places. I have worked a lot of different jobs in different places. I have worked with communities before but on a smaller scale. last year I did a project based on public space in the downtown east side of Vancouver, and I feel that I gained a lot of skills pertaining to interviews and research and I wanted to continue developing these skills and work with a community to try and put my research abilities to work.
Kianna Zivny – I’m a 3rd year Geography student in the Environment and Sustainability program. I have a huge interest in environmental design and love learning about the complex relationships we have with our built and natural environments. As well as learning about integrating sustainable and green urban design into cities, I also enjoy learning about the oceans and our impacts on our underwater environment.
