In our lab, we study how ecological communities and food webs are structured, how they process energy and elements, and how they respond to climate change and habitat loss. We develop theory and test mechanisms using field experiments, surveys, simulation models and data syntheses. Many of our studies are replicated across the Neotropics in order to determine if a theory is truly general, or contingent on geography.
