After graduating, what do students search for? What kind of jobs interest them? To help graduate students, LinkedIn launches “Tinder for Graduates” where students add their qualification details and are matched with different employers. These students are introduced to people who are professionals, which suggest various job or experience opportunities available to them based on their profile. By doing this, does LinkedIn becomes Tinder for business?
Tinder does a different job than LinkedIn. While they both connect people, Tinder builds romantic relationships whereas LinkedIn puts your way through professionalism. Tinder usually holds a much shorter relationship span than LinkedIn. LinkedIn is trying to match this pace itself as professionals don’t have the time to go through the entire profile of a student. However, now they can just take a quick glance at the student’s qualification summary and recommend the right job straight away. This increases efficiency amongst the students and encourages them to work more. By doing this, LinkedIn is able to build great customer relationships with graduating students and gain competitive advantage over other job searching apps.
LinkedIn is also becoming a very useful source for both students and companies that want to recruit young staff. This provides students with an incentive to gain work experience. They also get great advice from professionals on how to develop their resume and prepare them for future professional interviews. LinkedIn is a great source of business feed for everyone as people get to know more about different jobs and the advantages pertaining to these jobs. LinkedIn helps us connect with a mentor who offers useful information to help a student build a great career path.
It might not necessarily remain that LinkedIn does what it states as its mission – not everyone will be able to find a good job for themselves. While it might bring down LinkedIn’s reputation, ultimately they will be able to maintain themselves because of the millions of students and professionals using it on a daily basis.
