Where to stay
On campus
The following hotel options are located on campus:
- West Coast Suites – suites start around $342/night, and can accommodate up to 4 people. Make sure to select “Suites” under “Select Property” when searching for availability.
- St John’s College – rooms start at $201/night, and can be booked by indicating you are visiting the Linguistics department
- Crash Space for graduate students – we are working on providing couch-surfing options for graduate students. Stay tuned for more information.
Off campus
Unfortunately, because there is very limited accommodation available on campus, it’s likely that you will have to stay off campus. Thus, we encourage you to book your accommodation ASAP!
Please be aware that UBC is a 40-60 minutes by transit or ~30 minutes by car from downtown Vancouver, where many hotels are located. There are also lots of accommodation options in the surrounding cities, but the commute may be significant.
Note: Provincial short-term rental legislation prohibits short term rentals of entire homes, apartments, and condominiums. This legislation is strictly enforced. Before booking a short-term rental through a third party such as AirBnB, we encourage you to ensure that all local laws and regulations are followed.
