Regulatory and Securities Specialist – Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) Department of Lands   May – September 2020

  • Research on forms of financial security required for regulatory land use permits, contributing to the creation of regulations under the new Public Land Act.

Project Assessment Analyst – GNWT Department of Lands February – December 2017

  • Coordinated GNWT participation in environmental assessment (EA) and regulatory board processes. Synthesized input from all government departments

Biologist – Golder Associates Ltd., Yellowknife Office  June 2014 – January 2017

  • Environmental monitoring, data collection and regulatory reporting for various mines, mainly in the Northwest Territories, oil and gas sites in northern Alberta.
  • Environmental and wildlife field work including fish, water quality, limnology, aquatic plant sampling, bird and amphibian surveys. Wildlife habitat and hazard assessment surveys.

  • Species at risk research and reporting, edited species status reports including scientific and traditional knowledge.

Devolution Implementation Summer Student – GNWT Department of the Executive May – August 2012

  • Researched and wrote reports on waste sites in the Northwest Territories, prior to transfer of power of land, water and resource management from Federal to territorial government.
  • Analyzed, organized and formatted waste site data for input into databases.

  • Literature searches, processed interlibrary loans, worked independently on cataloguing and maintaining inventory.
