There are various ways to make sure the products or services we create are selling for getting the profit. For example: advertising, discount, internet marketing are some ways to make the product known by the client.

 In the business literature, sometimes the economists call these advertising campaigns as an “advertising war” between big companies who are competing for the market.

The other day, when I was doing research for my assignment I saw an article about Old Spice vs. Axe. Old Spice uploads to YouTube its new commercial advertisement within 30 second only. There are more than 13 million people who were watching this advertisement at that moment.

I believe that, soon Old Spice will become the leader in the shower gel market, and Axe will be in the second place. 

By reading many articles about advertisement, I realized that the most powerful ads are the visual ones, the ones on TV, Youtube and movies.

 A successful ad can bring a lot of profit to the company because it shows positive image to customers, and increase awareness

Marketing!!

I have been thinking for a long time about marketing, and about the fact that I have to post something about this on my blog. I was keep asking myself: “what is marketing?” Finally, I believe that I have the answer to this question. I think that “Marketing” is all about “profit” or “gain”” no matter if it is material – like money, or non-material – like a mental or spiritual satisfaction. When we trade, we offer what we have, to someone who needs or wants it. In this process both sides get to gain something they want to get. For instance, this summer I saw advertisement on the TV. The advertisement was about what a five stars hotel with sea view in Hainan province (China) can offer to visitors. This advertisement made me to go and see the hotel. I went to the hotel, and I loved its room’s design, private swimming pool, foods and the ambiance. I watched the sunset from my balcony. In the end I paid a lot of money for the hotel but I enjoyed and loved the time living in it. So, I got the satisfaction that I enjoyed to stay in the hotel, and the hotel got my money (it is a successful adv). We both got what we needed: the hotel needed my money and I needed a happy, relaxing, and great time this summer.

That is what I think it is about profit or gain for both!
