Lab Director

Dr. Joelle LeMoult
Joelle received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Miami in 2012 and completed her clinical internship at St. Joseph’s Healthcare, Hamilton. The overarching goal of her research is to further our understanding of the onset, maintenance, and recurrence of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). Using a multimodal approach, she examines the cognitive, emotional, and biological responses to environmental stressors that contribute to symptoms of depression and comorbid anxiety disorders.

Graduate Student

Ashley Battaglini
Ashley received her B.Sc. (Honours) Specializing in Psychology at the University of Toronto and is now a graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Program at UBC. Her research seeks to investigate how individual differences influence cognitions and emotion regulation during stress and its relationship with anxiety and depression.

Study Coordinator

Risa Murakami
Risa graduated from the University of British Columbia with a double major in psychology and music. Her experience in depression research and music-cognition has formed her research interests on cross-cultural factors that influence emotion regulation strategies, as well as music-listening as a form of stress regulation.
