BIO

My name is Cynthia and am a fourth year student in the Faculty of Arts as an English Literature major. In my third year I decided to add a Creative Writing minor.

I have an interest toward stories and exploring perspectives, drawn to books, shows, movies, personal essay’s and more. Literature for me has always been a subtly masterful way of blending cultural, societal, psychological and historical elements into one space. In the same way, through creative writing I have also discovered how modern day forms of writing such as the essay and it’s multiple subsets, graphic writing, journalism etc. can convey messages and to understand them all as their own language, translating the same words into different meanings. Writing has prompt self reflection and critical thinking. Through it I learn more about myself as well as the world everyday and how to communicate with words and more.

I am excited to explore the different professions that writing delves into such as writing for websites/blogs/reports, research, education and more. For now I hope to develop the writing techniques needed for online and professional settings.
