The Vietnamese Student Society at the University of British Columbia (VSS) is a non-profit, non-partisan, community-based organization. VSS is dedicated to cultivating Vietnamese culture, comradery, and the next generation of leaders who will serve as stewards of the Vietnamese community.
Officially re-constituted in 2011, Vietnamese students at the University of British Columbia recognized an unmet need within Vancouver’s Vietnamese community for cultivating Vietnamese culture and leadership amongst students. From this realization, the Vietnamese Student Society (VSS) was created to develop Vietnamese students and their culture at the University of British Columbia. The first meeting was held in 2011, where 3 young activists came together to develop the foundation for what VSS has accomplished to date.
