The executive board is the driving force of VSS- we are in charge of task planning, organizing, and program facilitation. The board manages the operations in accordance to the organization’s missions and values, as well as reviews short and long-term plans to sustain the structure of VSS. Each executive member serves a one-year term and is elected by registered members via elections ballot.

Vicky Mai
President
Vicky is a Biology and Applied Animal Biology student entering her fifth year of studies at UBC. Vicky oversees all operations within the organization as well as coordinates board meetings. Aside from her busy schedule, Vicky is also a training officer and drill instructor with St. John Ambulance, and an instructor at Science AL!VE and Pacific First Aid.

Chantel Luu

Event Coordinator

Chantel is entering her third year at UBC, studying Sociology, Law and Society. Being part of the Events Coordination team means that alongside partner Binh Nguyen , she helps to plan and organize monthly and special VSS events. Outside of VSS, Chantel is volunteering at children’s and youth groups in Langley and working part time as a book keeper. In her spare time, Chantel enjoys painting, sketching and spending times with friends and family.

Ha Pham
Vice-President External
Ha is a third year UBC Commerce student specialized in Operations and Logistics. Dedicated in her role as the VP External, Ha has contributed her skills in managing communication and building relationships with other clubs, organizations and sponsors. She has great passion for intercultural communication and has been dedicated to promoting Vietnamese and Asian cultures..

Minh Pham
Vice President Administration
Minh is a second year UBC Commerce student with intention to pursue double options in Finance and Accounting. His talent lies in working with various Vietnamese suppliers and negotiating the best deals for VSS, as well as taking the best photos of VSS precious moments. He is also a photographer for CUS Visual Media at the Sauder School of Business.

Binh Nguyen

Event Coordinator
Binh is a third year UBC Arts Student majoring in Economics and Mathematics with additional interest in French. Alongside his partner Chantel in the Event Coordinator team, he is involved with the logistics and execution of key events of the VSS. In his spare time, he likes to enjoy little things in life like hanging out with friends, fiction novels, action-adventure films and a game or two of beer pong.

Mini Nguyen

Promotions Coordinator

Mini is a second year Arts student majoring in Visual Art with a minor in Commerce. Born and raised in Vietnam until the age of 14, Mini’s deep connection with the country has inspired her to join UBC Vietnamese Student Society with the aim of promoting Vietnamese culture to her international peers. In her free time, she likes to read, taking photos and going to the gym.
