I see how Erik Huggers thinks that these cameras will add value, but I think he misses the point that the information his product collects is inherently invasive. When Netflix suggests products based on users’ preferences, they do so by aggregating information that was voluntarily provided by you. Although users of the Intel box will the choice of using the camera or not, users who do use it will presumably have information collected about them that goes well beyond their likes and dislikes about Intel’s products. Putting networked cameras in peoples homes is definitely a slippery slope.
